Jemma has applied what she has learned, to her practice in the classroom. Jemma is very professional in her approach with both students and staff, ensuring that the student is learning to the best of their ability and given the appropriately adjusted materials to complete their work. Jemma adjusted her teaching according to the age of the student and the Braille-reading level of the student and spoke openly with classroom teachers about how to adjust their content. Jemma was able to take advice on board and modified her teaching to reflect this advice. Jemma reviews her teaching and student learning to further improve her practice.

It has been a pleasure working with Jemma. She is a highly competent teacher with a vast knowledge base about general teaching as well as teaching students who have a vision impairment. Jemma's understanding of the unique needs of each student with a vision impairment in the classroom environment, have enabled her to provide appropriate support, and materials to enhance student learning and work collegially with staff, providing a happy and positive learning environment.
