Lauren used the Personalised Learning and Support Plan (PLSP) written by me to plan 60 minute sessions with her target student. She read my goals and discussed student progress towards them. The used this information to select activities and matched resources to use in sessions. While on placement Lauren wrote session notes recording the learning activities she implemented and her target student’s responses.

Lauren is very good at developing and maintaining professional relationships with class teachers. She understands that student learning outcomes are improved when the ISTH and class teacher work together. Lauren has an excellent repertoire of teaching strategies that she used to maintain student engagement and maximise learning in her sessions. She used revision, visuals , games and audiovisual materials in sessions.
Lauren has sound knowledge of different types of assistive technology used by students. She uses this knowledge to check devices are working and trouble shoot problems that arise. She is familiar with NESA syllabus outcomes for Stage 1 (Lauren's target student) and uses this knowledge when providing inclass support and also when she is providing withdrawal sessions. For example the class teacher identified whole number as a topic needed some revision and Lauren designed and implemented activities appropriate for a Stage 1 student. Lauren was always friendly and on time.
