Mia's IEP and planning for her focus student were of a high quality and linked goals from both the ISD and St Gab's. The goals from Mia's IEP were evident in her lesson planning. She was able to take anecdotal notes throughout her sessions and as her confidence grew she was able to modify her teaching practices. Mia's MLU for her focus student was very thorough which reflects on her desire to perform to a high standard.

Mia performed well when put under pressure- ie multiple students requiring hearing aid/FM connectivity checks in classroom situation. She was open and receptive to feedback- eager to participate in and be involved in management of equipment. She enquired with parents prior to commencing lessons that equipment was in working order.
On this prac, Mia did not have the opportunity to troubleshoot hearing aids and CI's and therefore would benefit from attempting to do this on the next prac.

Mia was able to reflect instinctively on her lessons and was open to receiving constructive feedback from her mentors. She was able to implement these strategies into her sessions. Her planning was thorough and catered to the individual needs of the students. She demonstrated a good understanding of the needs of deaf and HOH students by making accommodations ie positional seating, listening environment and acoustic highlighting.
Mia was an eager, enthusiastic and dedicated student. She showed initiative and was open to constructive feedback at all times. All documentation was presented to a high standard. She self reflected and asked questions to help improve her teaching. She developed a wonderful rapport with both staff, parents and students. Her lessons were engaging, fun and well catered for the individual needs of the students. Mia's lessons were well planned and she was confident to explain goals to parents whilst providing them with suggestions and activities to practice at home. Mia had a wonderful prac and she was a delight to have within the work place. We wish her the very best on her final prac and look forward to seeing her work as a TOD in the future.
