Erica is an enthusiastic learner and has demonstrated a willingness to modify her practice based on feedback from other professionals. She has effectively reflected on her own practice, identifying adjustments required and implementing those adjustments on subsequent teaching sessions. Erica frequently refers to her recent studies and identifies links to her practicum experiences.
During this second block of her practicum Erica has planned and implemented effective learning sessions for deaf students ranging from babies up to 15 year olds. She has shown the ability to quickly develop excellent rapport with students and their families, and has conducted all teaching sessions with absolute professionalism. Already confident working with teenage students, Erica stepped outside her comfort zone and developed fun and interesting sessions for a number of deaf infants as well. Although at first she found this challenging, Erica has demonstrated excellent progress in this area and now has the confidence and skills to work effectively with deaf students of any age.
