Julie has prepared a detailed Personalised Learning and Support Plan (PLaSP) in the areas of communication, language, speech and listening skills development for her focus student. Her PLaSP is a true working document that reflects the needs and interests of her student. She works closely with all stakeholders to prepare relevant programs, that use consistent language. Her students SMART goals are regularly evaluated to ensure student progress. The varied activities planned for each session demonstrated clear links to the SMART goals set within the PLaSP.

Julie performed the Ling 6 sounds test at the beginning of each session to check device function and engaged in ongoing monitoring throughout the session. In addition to the ongoing monitoring and effective use of technology, Julie teaches the student how to make learning accessible eg: how to turn on captions and communicate any issues with volume level etc. with teachers. This is import self advocacy development. Julie troubleshoots technology problems on an ongoing basis in the online learning environment and selected the accessible platform, Google Hangouts Meet. In addition, Julie has a well-developed understanding of the features of her students technology.

Julie's commitment to teaching and learning is clear. Throughout her practicum, Julie and I engaged in many meaningful discussions around vocabulary teaching, mode of communication and many other topics of interest within our specialist field. Julie has demonstrated her ability to identify the links between theory and practice and plan effective teaching and learning programs for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Julie has demonstrated her high levels of flexibility and commitment to the teaching and learning of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing throughout this practicum. My feedback as a part of lesson observations and discussions with Julie, will continue to have an effect beyond this practicum experience.
