The student has years of teaching experience in assessing student needs, writing SMART goals, setting high but attainable standards, and measuring progress against anticipated outcomes.
The student took on board the suggestions of the ToD, for improved practice with DHH students and their specific needs. In each progressive lesson plan and execution, she implemented these ideas into her experience.

During this short practicum, the student demonstrated a solid theoretic knowledge of the sound technologies encountered and was intuitive and resourceful in researching further, to build her capacity.
Greater confidence and knowledge in this area will only develop through experience; impossible to achieve in a short practicum.

The student had a solid, theoretical knowledge of deaf education and excellent teaching pedagogy that had developed over years of experience. Being experienced in accessing individual needs and challenges, differentiating the curriculum and developing IEPs, the student demonstrated 'Above Graduate' skills. No problems observed in putting theory into practice.
MB is a confident, capable teacher, with a desire to engage in and support deaf education. She showed professionalism in her dealings with students, parents, and other agencies. She worked in a collegial manner - seeking ToD support with DHH pedagogy and sharing her knowledge and classroom-teacher experience, with the Itinerant Hearing team.
In the course of the practicum, MB demonstrated a sound theoretical knowledge of the needs and challenges of DHH students and evidenced this knowledge in all lesson plans, which were well prepared, resourced, and executed. They reinforced classroom learning, with adjustments to accommodate the DHH student's individual needs. MB was flexible and adaptable, when circumstances necessitated change or when interruptions occurred.
She experienced Itinerant ToD practice, with children ranging in age from preschool to high school; across a variety of educational settings.
This practicum afforded MB a wider understanding of the role of ToD and gave her insight into another model of service delivery, outside of a unit.. I would recommend MB for the role of Teacher of the Deaf.
Do you consider that the Student is at risk of failing to achieve “Graduate level” by the end of their overall Practicum experience? No
