Belinda used the goals on the child's 'One Plan' to inform her lesson planning.
The goals were appropriate and ToD specific.
A little more reflection on specific examples of achievement was required, tracking progress more systematically

Managed the use of wireless communication devices well. Knew when appropriate times to use it were (very difficult in a kindy!).
Encouraged the children to advocate for themselves, giving them hints and encouragement to ask for 'Roger.'
Was able to explain the different types of hearing aids to the children correctly and confidently.

Lots of examples of Belinda responding to professional conversations e.g. levels of questions, speech reports, individual learning styles and needs. She put these into practice well.
Asked appropriate questions when she was unsure.
Knew about appropriate assessments for young D/HH children and shared some of her knowledge with us (e.g. around the use of TASL).
Belinda needed to be really flexible attempting a practicum in a kindergarten. Working in a preschool environment is challenging for those who have been classroom based. It is also difficult for those of us who have very specific goals to target - trying to find ways of supporting those in a heavily 'play-based' 'child-led' environment where the program is fluid and constantly changing is hard work! She rose to the challenge and listened to advice, tips and tricks and completed her placement well. She built rapport with the staff and the children who all enjoyed working with her.
Her understanding of the individual needs of the children was demonstrated through her differentiated lesson planning. She also had to take into consideration the needs of Deaf adults supporting us and did this well. She is able to use Auslan at a high level which was definitely required in this setting in order to work collaboratively and discuss the needs of children using Auslan as a first language.
Well done Belinda!
