Leigh has a good understanding of the various types of access technology available for students with vision impairment. On this practicum for example, she assisted her young Kindergarten focus student, and older students to use basic JAWS commands to listen to stories and class work sheets. In addition, she assisted her focus student during a 'home row key' typing lesson.

Careful preparation and planning has ensured Leigh developed theoretical concepts ie the use of environmental clues for O&M, into practical motivating and logically sequenced lessons.
Leigh's punctuality, preparation, enthusiasm, manner and willingness to accept constructive advice has resulted in her overall excellent achievement for this practicum. Her lessons were motivating, creative and well sequenced. She reflected on her lessons and ways in which they could be improved for future sessions. It was a pleasure to support Leigh as a re-training teacher.
