Charmain had a wide variety of children from young children up to high school on her caseload while on practicum. She was able to identify each of their needs, make developmentally and age appropriate goals to suit all their needs. She has and maintained a high expectation in all aspects of her teaching, from planning, time management, resources used, behaviour that is acceptable in class and withdrawal lessons. The students knew what was expected for each lesson. Each lesson ran smoothly due to her detailed lesson plans and her enthusiasm was infectious.

Charmain has demonstrated how confident she is in this area. She was personal experience which definitely helped especially with trouble shooting issues. She had daily 'hands-on' experience with monitoring the effective use of technology for example, cochlear implants, hearing aids, "Roger" systems. Charmain used the Ling sounds to monitor students consistent access to all sounds in the speech spectrum.

Charmain maintained a professional manner while on practicum. She introduced herself to new staff, students, parents/carers at the various settings. She engaged the students and parents/carers thus building a rapport with each of them throughout her placement. All lessons were discussed prior to Charmain implementing them. Charmain happily accepted any advice and suggestions that was offered and made adjustments to her plan. She was a keen to learn as much as she could for each age range. Charmain demonstrated her flexibility in teaching both planning and teaching opportunities.
Charmain has a lovely rapport with students, parents and staff while on practicum. Her interactions were very natural. Charmain is very passionate about Deaf Education and making sure 'our students' are getting what they should be. She is supportive and understanding to their needs and interests. She follows the student's lead in lessons, showing her flexibility in the lesson.
Charmain has been open to constructive advice and has followed up on all recommendations. For example, thinking about the time constraints of the lesson and how many goals were in the lesson plan.
Charmain was thoroughly prepared for each lesson while on prac. She has appropriate activities and resources. She was able to extend the student's listening, speech and cognitive abilities while focusing on their overall language goals.
Charmain was a pleasure to work with and I wish her the very best for the future as a "Teacher of the Deaf".
Do you consider that the Student is at risk of failing to achieve “Graduate level” by the end of their overall Practicum experience? No
