Lauren wrote goals appropriate to the needs of the students based on assessment data and developed thorough implementation plans to meet the goals. She developed goals and lessons that were age/ stage appropriate and engaged the learners in every task.
Lauren successfully linked goals from students IEP to individual lesson goals and recorded clearly what the student did in relation to the session goal. She reflected on what the student still needed to work on in order to meet the desired goal.
Her lessons were engaging and she was able to skillfully adapt the lesson rate and level of the task to ensure students experiences success while still being challenged.

Lauren demonstrates a thorough knowledge and understanding of the needs of Deaf and hard of hearing children in the areas of speech, language, audition and technology management. This is seen consistently within her daily practice with students of all ages.
Lauren quickly became part of our hearing team's professional dialogue and was an active participant in team meetings. She advised mainstream teachers about the use of technology in order to maximise the students inclusion in their classes. She used assessment data to create learning goals and developed effective implementation plans which she evaluated in order to improve her practice.
Lauren is a friendly and enthusiastic teacher who brings a wealth of knowledge to the field of teaching students who are Deaf or hard of hearing. She was always well prepared to present her lessons which were interesting and engaging. She was open to feedback fom a variety of teachers and implemented advice in subsequent sessions. She confidently engaged in professional dialogue which enhanced her own learning as well as bringing a fresh perspective to this established team.
I am confident that she will be able to perform all tasks required of a teacher of the deaf to a very high standard.
