The student was able to discuss and apply knowledge gained from her current studies in the classroom. A great deal of thought went into her lesson preparation so that she was clear in her own mind 'why' she had included the task and what was the learning intention. Any feedback given was taken on board and adjustments were made for the following lesson. She was honest with her self evaluation and was able to identify for herself areas that needed improvement. She engaged well with colleagues and was confident when discussing aspects relating to the child's hearing impairment with their classroom teachers.
The student was extremely professional throughout her practicum. Her lessons were engaging, creative and very well prepared. She modeled and explained strategies and techniques clearly to the child and the feedback she provided was meaningful. She was mindful of where the student was currently and what needed to be planned in order for his learning to progress.
During her lessons and her interactions with children she communicated clearly, helped facilitate natural social discourse and applied strategies to support their engagement. Following her lessons she was honest in her reflections and used these when planning her following sessions.
