Karen is outstanding in her commitment to professional learning. She willingly engaged with a number of staff at different locations to share her knowledge - for example in discussion of signal to noise ratio with a high school science teacher and of conductive hearing loss in response to a classroom teacher's expressed concerns about another student. Karen showed careful reflection on her teaching practice and acted on feedback promptly
Karen is committed to becoming the best Teacher of the Deaf she can be. She shows enthusiasm for learning and maintains professionalism in all aspects of her work. Karen engages in professional dialogue and learning conversations with her colleagues both to share information that she finds interesting and relevant as well as to consult with them so as to improve her own practice.
Karen carefully planned and reflected on all her lessons. She used her knowledge of how students learn to ensure their engagement and showed sensitivity and awareness to their responses, making adjustments to her lessons as necessary. Karen effectively used her own reflections and feedback to inform the delivery and content of the next lesson.
It has been a pleasure working with Karen during her first practicum and I wish her well in her second.
