Nicole transferred the knowledge gained from her previous practicum experience with High School students. She understood the setting and the needs of students in this age group. She implemented the skills taught in her study of speech and language and this was eveidenced in her daily teaching practice.
Nicole demonstrated a thorough understanding of the role of the Teacher of the Deaf in settings ranging from preschool to high school. She also effectively worked with individual students and their families in early intervention sessions. Nicole was able to model to and coach parents during activities to help the child achieve the set goal, and she had discussions with the parents on how the goal could be achieved at home through play and routines. Nicole seamlessly integrated into our ISTH team and generously shared her knowledge and experience. We wish Nicole every success in her role as a Teacher of the Deaf.
