Robbie has developed activities under my guidance which work to achieve the students' goals. He has been encouraged to record their responses and to take notes while teaching and then used these responses to plan the next lesson in the series. He has improved in his ability to do this during the placement.

Robbie successfully inserted a hearing aid into the ear of a student with multiple disabilities. He could connect a Roger Touchscreen to the student's receiver. He encouraged a student to insert new batteries when the current batteries were flat. He can demonstrate how to check hearing devices.

Robbie talked about things that he had learnt in his previous placement. He acted upon the advice that I gave him during the teaching round particularly in regard to use of voice during LING sound test and listening activities. He was always willing to take on advice and to improve his teaching in light of the advice given.
Robbie planned lessons thoroughly and was given verbal feedback about his lessons immediately whenever possible. He demonstrated a willingness to act upon the advice that he was given. He still needs quite a bit of support in planning lessons for the student but he has improved in his ability to determine the next step to take when the student was able to do the activity with ease.
The Visiting Teacher role requires a broad understanding of curriculum from F to year 12. Robbie needs further teaching experience to enable him to understand the curriculum at different year levels.
During the placement his teaching has improved considerably and he has improved in his understanding of listening technology and in working with students with a hearing loss.
I wish him all the best for the future.
