Kendra ensured that she familiarised herself with the student’s current IEP and used then utilised it to set up individual relevant and appropriate language targets for him. She ensured that she discussed the goals with the student at the commencement of each lesson. Kendra also displayed flexibility to adjust plans based on achievement of outcomes along the learning journey.

There was not a lot of call for Kendra to manage students and their assistive technology as she completed her lessons with students who are competent in monitoring their own devices (high school aged). Nevertheless, Kendra clearly demonstrated that she has the knowledge to check and troubleshoot with FM systems, hearing aids and Cochlear Implants during discussion with all four of the teachers that she worked with. Kendra also tested the focus child's hearing technology using the Ling Sound Test.

Kendra’s flexibility to work with four different teachers to ensure she had a wide variety of exposure to what we offer at our school was commendable. She demonstrated her knowledge through her classroom practice and spent time with each teacher discussion her learning journey.
Kendra comes to this Practicum with a huge wealth of knowledge and experience of deaf education. Not only her personal journey of being a parent of son with hearing loss but all of her current experiences in her work as a Teacher Of the Deaf (TOD) have shaped her vast understanding of the job requirements. She demonstrates an expansive repertoire of skills to teach students with a hearing loss.
Kendra is a quiet and conscientious student and teacher. She is flexible and resourceful as well as keen to reflect on her practice. She has been a pleasure to work with.
Kendra is extremely professional in her appearance and approach and she fit in seamlessly on our staff. She was always well prepared for each of her lessons and appeared to enjoy teaching and getting to know the students. She took great care to match interests and tasks to ensure the students enjoyed learning and were keen to engage. Her lessons flowed smoothly and she took care to build a connection with each student. It will be a pleasure to work with Kendra in our chosen field.
